ABOUT NZ BUILDERS
NZ Builders is a team of carpenters from around the world, who bring unique and collaborative expertise to each project, resulting in some of the most innovative and architecturally stunning homes on Vancouver Island and surrounding areas.
New Zealand-born Damon Gray founded NZ Builders in 2004 after spending more than two decades building in his home country, the US, and Canada. After renovating countless homes that had been damaged due to mould and rot in damp climates like the pacific northwest, Damon began to develop and employ more sustainable building practices that would prioritize long-term durability and energy efficiency.
NZ Builders works with designers and architects that share our enthusiasm for building sustainable, high-performance homes that challenge traditional norms and break new ground in building science. We have built solid relationships with sub-trades and industry professionals who align with our values and deliver the same level of quality that our clients have come to expect from our team.
Many of our team have been with us since the start, which speaks for itself. We take on projects that are unique and different, and that push the envelope when it comes to building science. If you’re on our team, be prepared to challenge yourself and grow your craft with each project.
While it makes sense to have a tiered leadership structure in any construction company, we operate with an “all hands” mentality–we’re all here to help each other succeed, and nobody is above getting their hands dirty.
